Know who's a great director? John Turturro. He has made himself a perfect movie. 100% original. Straight from the mind of a madman. Instant classic.
No one has said a word about this film in any of the podcasts i listen to. No one has rented it at blockbuster. It wasn't in any theater in Indiana. What's wrong with you people?
It's a comedy/musical/love story. James Gandolfini is a regular guy who works hard for a living to provide for his wife and 2.5 kids (one being Mandy Moore) and his wife played by Susan Sarandon. He is in the middle of starting a fling with a foul-mouthed Irish red-head hooch named Tula played by Kate Winslet. It causes problems in the home obviously...and we have our conflict.
A quarter of the way in, I'm thinkin' "Wow, this movie is perfect. It couldn't be any better. Then in glides Christopher Walken dancing and singing along to Elvis, and completely blows my mind. I don't think he has ever been COOLER then in this film.
I'd say it's a cross between Steve Buscemi's Trees Lounge and John Waters' Pink Flamings...but a musical.
If you can watch this trailer and not go right out and rent this movie your are a big idiot! A big, big, idiot!
